Clear quartz forms in a variety of ways growing as points, clusters, geodes and wands.

It is predominantly mined in Brazil, Madagascar, Arkansas, the Alps and within the Himalayas, but equally can be found strewn on the beaches of the UK just waiting to be picked.

With a hardness of 7 on the Mohs Scale and a high vibrational energy, clear quartz can be found in use every day in every household without the user knowing it's connection. Its chemical structure is Silicon Dioxide (SiO₂). The clue is in the name. When ground down very finely it creates silicon powder which can be taken and formulated into silicon chip, used everyday in a wide selection of technology. Clear Quartz' high vibration is captured and utilised to drive energy which drives technology.

So this beautiful crystal has the amazing ability to amplify energy and intention and is definitely a crystal that should be in everyone's possession! It enhances clarity and focus of the individual whilst supporting their spiritual growth. It encourages energetic harmony and alignment whilst cleansing and strengthening the aura.

It is a crystal that can support healing of any of the energetic chakras but is particularly useful for connecting and working with the Crown Chakra.

Best used for....

Clear quartz has many uses but specifically works as a support during meditation. It may be held or placed on the body or around the body. Crystal healers will use clear quartz to create a grid of energy around a client and crystal points or wands will help to direct energy where it's required. It is often used during reiki and any form of energy healing treatment. Tumblestones and small points can be used to create crystal grids or mandalas, as it amplifies any other crystals around it. I always like to keep a nice piece of clear quartz on my altar which supports my work throughout the seasons. It brings storm energy into being so definitely use with caution!

I specifically like to keep a piece of clear quartz wrapped with my reading decks as I believe it keeps them cleansed and prepared to work well. It can be used in any form of divination or manifestation practice.

When to avoid clear quartz?

It is wise to put clear quartz away during times of severe overwhelm when amplification may intensify emotions. It is also best not to use it without grounding first when undertaking deep spiritual work.
